This is Danny.
The Herbalife shakes are very well known for weight loss. But do you know how to use the products after you have reached your weight loss goal?
Also, did you know that the shakes are fantastic also for people that want to GAIN weight?
1) HOW TO TAKE THE SHAKES IF YOU WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT
The idea is to eat FIVE small meals/shakes a day and still LOSE the weight. For example, the typical woman needs a 1,500-1,800 low calorie regime in order to lose weight. If we spread those 1,500-1,800 calories in 5 small meals, we get that every meal should give you around 350 calories. Basically, your should eat every 3 hours in order to keep your metabolism up. Do NOT eat only twice a day (with two big meals)!!!
So, here is Danny's GoShape.com recommended program.
BREAKFAST (7AM): shake .
MID-MORNING (10AM): one herbal concentrate tea and 1 Herbalife protein bar
LUNCH (1PM): a sensible meal with plenty of vegetables (I love green bins and spinach, but also a colorful salad with low-fat dressing), complex carbs such as BOILED potatoes (NO fries!), and lean proteins (good size portion of grilled chicken breast, grilled turkey, fish or a nice quiche with egg WHITES and plenty of vegs). Add spices to your food for flavor.
MID-AFTERNOON (4PM): one Herbalife protein bar
DINNER (7PM): a shake
TABLETS: multivitamin, total control, cell active etc must be taken 30 minutes BEFORE the main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
WATER: at least a half a gallon per day
PS: if you want, you can have your second shake for lunch instead of dinner (thus you would have your sensible meal for dinner with your family perhaps).
Physical Exercise is a mandatory part of the program: exercise 4 times a week, for 40 minutes per session (this should be your goal, so start slowly and progressively get to this target). Remember: when you exercise you must SWEAT, or you are not training hard enough and it will not count.
How to prepare a shake. Combine in a blender:
- 8 to 16 oz. of no-fat milk, or soy milk or juice (orange, apple, non-sugar cranberry, etc.) or fat free yogurt - 2 scoops of Formula 1 Shake Mix - 1 scoop of Formula 3 Personalized Protein Powder - 1 piece of fruit (you can also eat the piece of fruit raw, no need to blend it)
If you wish, you can also add a CARROT to your shake (my favourite is to mix the formula 1 chocolate withe carrots...ddeeelicious!!!) Blend on high for at least 1 minute, then let the shake sit for at least 5 minutes (this is TRICK that will make your shake thicker!).
If you feel hungry in between meals, then use 3 scoops of formula 1 and 2 scoops of formula 2. This is recommended in order for you to drink a higher-protein shake that will help you not to feel hungry. For a FAST weight loss, I recommend you to use just water rather then milk or fruit juice. If you don't normally eat breakfast, having the shake in the morning will give you energy, boost your metabolism, burn fat and keep you from being ravenous at lunch. Do NOT skip breakfast!
The shake is very filling and nutritious, but make sure you have ONE regular, sensible, low-fat meal once a day of food you enjoy (either lunch or dinner).

2) HOW TO TAKE THE SHAKES IF YOU WANT TO MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT
In brief: 1 shake for breakfast and 2 healthy meals (lunch and dinner) a day
Enjoy the shake as a meal replacement ONCE a day (either for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I would suggest you for breakfast).
The shake is very filling and nutritious, but make sure you have two regular, sensible, low-fat meals of food you enjoy (lunch and dinner).

3) HOW TO TAKE THE SHAKES IF YOU WANT TO GAIN WEIGHT
I have many customers that are using Herbalife to GAIN weight. Despite what people believe, gaining weight can be MORE difficult then losing weight (I have read a statistic that says that gaining weight can be 4 times as hard as losing weight...no joke!).
In order to GAIN weight, you must ADD 3 shakes a day on top of whatever you are already eating.
Also, you must take your tablets AFTER your shake.
So, have your normal breakfast (and I have found that many people who are underweight actually skip breakfast, so if this is your case, then you MUST have a shake for breakfast!). Then have your normal lunch and for dessert you can have a delicious chocolate or cookie and cream shake. Then you must have a mid-afternoon snack. Then have you dinner and again as a dessert have a nutritional shake. Remember: if you want to GAIN weight, the shakes for you will NOT be meal replacement. You must have 3 shakes a day ON TOP of what you are already eating!
